Position Overview Field Service Technician – Washington, DC Installation, maintenance, and repairs on equipment within an assigned territory to assure continuity of customer operations and high levels of customer satisfaction. May be requested to work outside of assigned area for projects, to cover for colleagues, and at peak demand times. Owns customer problems or incidents until resolved to customer satisfaction or in compliance with agreed upon Service Level Agreements (SLA). Diagnose, repair, and replace components on any equipment supported by NCR Voyix including but not limited to Point of Sale, self‑service checkout, servers, back‑office equipment, handheld terminals and associated peripherals. Install new or upgrade existing equipment in line with the Statement of Work (SOW). Assist in site preparation, including installation of cable, staging of equipment, and testing; may also perform required modular swaps and unit replacements. Subject to required training and certification (e.g. height work such as ladders, MEWP, or handheld power tools). Responsibilities Respond to all customer concerns or problems by resolving them or escalating them to the proper associate, team member, territory manager, or Control Tower. Build working relationships with customers and develop informal communication channels at the local level. Represent NCR Voyix positively and uphold the company’s image and reputation. Perform periodic preventative maintenance on assigned products and make repairs or replace components or modules. Manage all NCR Voyix assets used in customer service delivery (tools, software, vehicles, documentation, intellectual property). Maintain an appropriate parts inventory and record keeping. Accurately report calls, activity, and other required reporting; track and report all expenses incurred in service delivery. Capture detailed customer asset information and other data necessary for invoicing or billing. May be dispatched daily on a call‑by‑call basis or establish own schedule based on automated reports to meet SLA. Support shift patterns, including weekend, evening, night, and on‑call work as required by Customer Coverage and SLA. Help achieve Key Performance Indicators, ensuring high customer satisfaction, quality outcomes, cost control, and safe operations. Basic Qualifications Clean driving license required. High school diploma or equivalent, plus years of related experience. Basic computer skills (Windows OS navigation and familiarity with Microsoft Office). Experience in PC hardware maintenance and support. Good problem‑solving skills and ability to pick up new skills quickly. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and produce high‑quality work. Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills. High level of mechanical/electrical aptitude and experience maintaining computer hardware (desktops, servers, peripherals), routers, networks, switches, hubs. High level of personal integrity; support and promote teamwork and cooperation. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, overtime, flex shifts, and on‑calls. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree or certifications in a technology field preferred. Previous experience with NCR or similar equipment is a plus. Recognized qualification within the electronics or IT domain preferred. EPOS maintenance or installation experience preferred; strong desktop hardware experience acceptable if EPOS experience is limited. Salary & Benefits Salary range: $38,900.00 – $58,300.00.
