Patient Care Associate: Ambulatory Surgery - 40hrs/week, EVENINGS

Department/Unit: Ambulatory SurgeryWork Shift: Evening (United States of America)Salary Range: $41,923.00 - $54,500.00NO WEEKENDS!! Responsibilities Collect patient data, including vital signs, height and weight, and food and fluid intake and output. Perform personal care of the patient, such as bathing, oral care, and skin care. Assist the patient with eating and hydration, grooming, dressing, and toileting. Assist with patient mobilization, turning, and positioning, and utilize safe patient handling techniques. Perform point‑of‑care testing, such as whole blood glucose. Provide activity companionship for patients requiring 1:1 observations. Promote a clean, orderly, and safe environment of care and participate in the creation and maintenance of that environment. Apply infection control techniques and standard/ transmission‑based precautions. Document all care in the patient record and provide details of patient progress to the RN. Participate in care planning, nursing report processes, and discussions of patient/family decision making. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. Six months of related experience in a health‑care setting, completion of a certified nurse assistant course, or experience as a paramedic or emergency technician is desired. Honest, punctual, and adherent to the highest standards of ethical conduct as defined by AMC and the tenets of the profession. Ability to communicate cooperatively and effectively with patients, family members, employees, and others. Regularly requires standing, walking, use of hands for various job functions, and occasionally sitting, kneeling, or crouching. Required Attributes Competent, compassionate patient care consistently provided to customers. Utilization of standardized techniques for keeping patients and families informed. Incorporation of patient/family rights to participate in decision making about their care. Employs strategies to promote a clean, orderly, and safe environment.
