Qualifications Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in project management, construction management, engineering, or architecture OR BA/BS Degree in Engineering, architecture, project management, construction management Practical knowledge of a wide range of technical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, policies, costs, materials, and equipment relating to construction. Knowledge of industry standard construction quality control tools, techniques, and practices and the ability to use that knowledge to ensure adherence to standards and regulations. Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint Duties Enrollee functions as a construction manager, assisting GRCA project staff in delivering projects to stabilize and recover the North Rim from the Dragon Bravo Fire of 2025. Primary responsibilities would be to assist in the development and review of new design and construction contracts for North Rim recovery with secondary responsibilities to support post-award construction activities. Enrollee's work will be prioritized by the Monitor or designee and Enrollee will work closely and coordinate with other project team members, park staff, and contracting personnel. Project coordination and inspection. Successfully manage and inspect multiple construction and service projects. Coordinate Construction Contractor's efforts with Park Staff's daily operation, providing technical assistance and support to Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) during construction20% Advise on the preparation of construction documents (e.g. detailed plans, specifications, cost estimates, and other supporting documentation) for advertised or negotiated procurements. During the course of these projects/contracts, ensure the contractor's performance meets the technical requirements of the procurement.40% Meetings: Conduct meetings with appropriate park staff, project managers, and Contractor on project specifications, details and park rules, and prepare meeting minutes. Review and approve contractor submissions and verify submissions for payment. Make on site decisions for projects as deemed necessary and approve adjustments to the contract.20% Assist in administratively controlling construction projects by: developing submittal logs and communication plans; participating in pre-construction meetings; coordinating with Contracting Officers to obtain notices to proceed; assisting in mobilization; chairing weekly progress meetings; reviewing/approving/rejecting submittals; and reviewing contractor invoices. Coordinate project closure (close-out: post occupancy, warranty review, and production of as-built drawings utilizing computer-aided design software).20% Other Required Certifications: Preferred but not required: project management professional, professional engineering license, registered architect, other construction related certifications Overnight travel: Travel once or twice a quarter to park (primarily North Rim) for three to five days per trip as project needs dictate to support design, pre-construction, and construction activities. Air travel anticipated: Depending on enrollee location, air travel may be required for quarterly trips Health and Safety Considerations: Construction-site safety procedures will be followed, but no specific training is necessary Required Safety Gear: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for inspecting a variety of construction sites Physical requirements: Ability to travel to and move around construction sites in all weather conditions. Ability to hike to and from North Kaibab trailhead to Supai Tunnel is preferred.
