MRI Technologist

The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role involves analyzing patient histories, ensuring patient comfort and safety during scans, operating MRI equipment, and ensuring proper maintenance of machines. The MRI Technologist also supports the training and development of junior staff, conducts quality assurance, and ensures compliance with safety protocols. Key Responsibilities Patient Preparation & Safety: Analyze patient histories, screen for conditions such as pacemakers or metal-related injuries, and prepare patients for MRI scans, ensuring their comfort and calmness. Contrast Dye Administration: Prepare and administer contrast dyes as necessary to enhance imaging results. MRI Procedures: Position patients correctly and perform MRI scans as per the specifications provided by physicians. Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect MRI equipment, schedule necessary maintenance, and coordinate repairs as needed to ensure proper function. Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe MRI room environment at all times. Training & Support: Assist in the training of junior MRI Technologists and provide ongoing support to new staff members. Reporting & Communication: Write accurate reports, elevate any issues or concerns to relevant stakeholders, and ensure all patient data is documented appropriately. Quality Assurance: Carry out quality assurance procedures and suggest improvements where necessary to enhance the imaging process and patient care. Required Qualifications Licensure/Certification: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Experience: Previous experience in MRI technology is preferred, but not required. Other Updated resume. Preferred Qualifications Experience: Experience in performing MRI scans and understanding MRI equipment maintenance.
