Compensation: $175K to $225K + Bonuses + Benefits

ERG is partnering with a respected, tech-forward law firm in Carlsbad that is looking for an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its team. The firm uses modern technology and AI tools to work more efficiently, so its attorneys spend less time on administrative work and more time on strategy and advocacy. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of litigation experience, strong motion practice and deposition skills, and the judgment to run matters with appropriate independence. This is a good fit for an attorney who wants meaningful case ownership, a reasonable billable-hour target and real support for long-term growth, without being required to bring a book of business.

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Manage a diverse litigation caseload from initial case evaluation through resolution.
\n
• Handle commercial real estate and lease disputes, easement and boundary matters, development and construction conflicts, land use and permitting disputes, HOA matters, and general business litigation.
\n
• Draft and argue pleadings, motions and other litigation documents.
\n
• Prepare, serve and respond to written discovery.
\n
• Take and defend depositions.
\n
• Develop case strategy and prepare matters for mediation, settlement negotiations and trial.
\n
• Collaborate with litigation and transactional colleagues on complex, cross-practice matters.
\n
• Keep clients informed through clear communication and responsive case management.
\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• 5–10 years of civil litigation experience.
\n
• Hands-on experience with motion practice, written discovery, depositions and trial preparation.
\n
• Strong legal research, writing and advocacy skills.
\n
• Sound judgment and the ability to manage matters with appropriate independence.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines at once.
\n
• Comfort with legal technology, and an interest in using AI and modern tools in daily practice.
\n
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
\n
• Experience in real estate, land use or business litigation is a plus but not required.
\n
• Active California State Bar membership in good standing.
\n
