About the Position

Job Title: RN - ICU/PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU), PCU, Med-surg Adult Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 3 years License: WA license must be active Certifications: Not specified Must-Have: Must be experienced in all areas and willing to float to Med-surg as needed. Description: 25 bed critical access hospital RN for ICU/PCU on nights. Identifies patients' and significant others' needs for patient education and provides education utilizing appropriate educational modalities. Identifies and provides for patient safety through preventative measures such as side rails, restraints, and safe equipment use. Follows restraint policy correctly and evaluates and documents appropriately. Demonstrates knowledge of the safe operation of all equipment in the ICU/Telemetry/Med-surg areas. Is aware of troubleshooting techniques and follows procedures for the repair of essential equipment, able to access equipment manuals as needed. Implements infection control and isolation procedures using proper techniques and documentation. Utilizes standard precautions at all times. Maintains complete, accurate, and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during the assigned shift. Documents charge accurately. Ensures accuracy and completes physician's orders in a timely manner. Completes a 24-hour check of orders if within duties of the assigned shift. Gives change of shift report to oncoming employees in a complete and accurate manner. Communicates with other departments completely and accurately. Reports critical lab values to the physician in a timely manner according to policy. Maintains and restocks emergency carts, room, and general supplies. Performs other duties as assigned. Holiday coverage is required.
