Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Per Diem Days

** Pay rate starting at $40/hour **

UMC is currently seeking an COTA for our Bristol Glen Senior Care Community located in Newton, NJ. Bristol Glen, a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), is thoughtfully designed to provide person directed care in a home-like environment to ensure exceptional care and quality of life for our residents.

Requirements for a COTA:

• Graduate of an accredited therapy program.
• 1-2 years of related experience
• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant state license

Responsibilities for a COTA:

• Works under direction of occupational therapists to plan, implement, or administer programs that restore or enhance performance in individuals with functional impairments.
• Monitors client's performance in therapy activities and provides encouragement.
• Assists in instructing clients and families in home programs, basic living skills, or the care and use of adaptive equipment.
• Observes and records clients' progress, attitudes, and behavior and maintains this information in the client's records.
• Assists occupational therapists with implementing treatment plans.
• Report to supervisors on patients' progress, attitudes, and behavior.
• Complies with professional, ethical and legal standards.
