Salary: $20 hr Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 11pm - 7 am Job Summary: The Overnight Support Partner is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive environment for clients, staff, and visitors at the East Valley Men's Center. This position provides direct client support through trauma-informed, person-centered practices; monitors daily shelter operations; responds to crises; enforces program expectations; maintains facility safety and cleanliness; completes required documentation; and supports the continuous operation of a 24-hour residential shelter. Working collaboratively with Case Managers and Program Leadership, the Support Partner promotes client accountability, independent living skills, and successful program participation. Employees assigned to this position are required to remain awake, alert, and actively engaged throughout the assigned shift. Responsibilities: Provide direct client support using trauma-informed, person-centered practices that promote safety, dignity, respect, accountability, and client engagement. Build and maintain professional relationships with clients while fostering a safe, supportive, and recovery-oriented residential environment. Monitor client activities, interactions, and facility operations to promote safety, security, program compliance, and a positive community living environment. Observe, document, and report changes in client behavior, condition, safety concerns, or program participation to appropriate staff. Educate clients regarding program expectations, agency policies, available resources, daily schedules, and community standards. Encourage client participation in case management services, life skills development, employment, educational opportunities, and other program activities that support self-sufficiency. Respond appropriately to client crises, behavioral concerns, medical emergencies, and other incidents using trauma-informed de-escalation techniques, sound judgment, and established agency procedures. Conduct routine security rounds and facility inspections to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, security concerns, and policy violations. Maintain continuous awareness of the shelter environment to proactively identify and address safety, security, operational, and client service needs. Monitor building access, resident movement, visitor activity, and common areas to maintain a safe and secure environment. Assist with client admissions, orientations, room assignments, transfers, discharges, and other shelter operations in accordance with established procedures. Prepare client rooms and common areas to support occupancy, program operations, and a welcoming environment. Perform housekeeping, sanitation, laundry, and general facility maintenance duties in accordance with health, safety, licensing, and agency standards. Prepare, serve, and store food in accordance with food safety, sanitation, licensing, and agency requirements. Monitor inventory levels of food, supplies, equipment, program materials, and client necessities, and notify appropriate staff when replenishment is needed. Administer, monitor, document, or assist with client medications in accordance with agency policy, applicable regulations, and assigned responsibilities. Operate agency systems, equipment, communication devices, security systems, and other technology necessary to support shelter operations and maintain accurate records. Complete accurate and timely documentation, including shift reports, incident reports, inspections, logs, client records, medication records (when applicable), and other required documentation. Communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, supervisors, volunteers, community partners, emergency responders, and other service providers to support continuity of care and shelter operations. Collaborate with Case Managers and Program Leadership to support client success and effective program operations. Support a collaborative team environment by assisting coworkers during high-volume periods, responding to changing operational priorities, and contributing to consistent service delivery. Assist with the orientation, onboarding, and on-the-job training of new employees by modeling best practices and sharing operational knowledge as assigned. Safely operate agency vehicles and transport clients when authorized and assigned. Remain at the assigned work location and ensure appropriate shift coverage until properly relieved in accordance with agency procedures. Maintain all required licenses, certifications, and training necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. Use effective communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills to promote a respectful, collaborative, and professional environment for clients, coworkers, volunteers, and visitors. Participate in required meetings, trainings, emergency drills, and professional development activities. Exercise professionalism, accountability, ethical decision-making, flexibility, and sound judgment while representing A New Leaf. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients while treating all individuals with dignity, respect, and compassion. Perform other duties as assigned in support of program, department, and organizational objectives. Education: No minimum educational requirement. Relevant work experience, demonstrated skills, lived experience, training, or a combination of education and experience that enables successful performance of the essential functions of the position will be considered. Experience: Previous experience working in a homeless shelter, residential program, behavioral health, substance use treatment, social services, customer service, security, healthcare, hospitality, or a related field is preferred. Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health conditions, substance use disorders, trauma, or other barriers to housing stability is preferred. Experience de-escalating conflict, responding to crises, and working effectively in a fast-paced environment is preferred. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Work is performed onsite within a 24-hour residential shelter environment. Regular and direct interaction with clients experiencing homelessness, behavioral health conditions, substance use disorders, trauma, and other complex challenges is required. Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and movement throughout the facility and program areas is required. Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday. Ability to lift, carry, push, or move supplies, donations, food, equipment, or other materials weighing up to 25 pounds independently. Heavier items may require team lifting or mechanical assistance. Position requires responding to emergencies, client crises, behavioral incidents, and other unexpected situations while maintaining professionalism, sound judgment, and adherence to agency safety procedures. Position involves exposure to environmental conditions associated with providing direct services in a residential shelter. Employees are expected to follow established safety procedures, infection control practices, and agency policies. Position requires flexibility to work assigned schedules, which may include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or overnight shifts (for designated positions), and remaining on duty until properly relieved, as operational needs require.
