Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level IV trained RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring advanced NRP certification and at least 2 years of experience.

Details

• Level IV Women & Infants Hospital setting with a 15-bed L&D unit, 20-bed High Risk Unit, and 8-bed OB Triage
• Night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30
• 36 hours per week with every third weekend required
• Holiday rotation required
• Possible float to Carmel L&D location if needed
• Charge nurse responsibilities in both L&D and High Risk Unit, as well as baby nurse duties for deliveries
• Follows AWHONN staffing guidelines with 1:1 ratio in active labor and up to 2 patients in early, latent labor
• Two-shift orientation provided

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA)
• NRP certification (AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics)
• Advanced NRP certification required
• Fetal monitoring competency required, via facility exam or AWHONN/Relias certification within past 2 years
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Experience with Level IV L&D units required
• Must be familiar with magnesium and insulin drip management
• Experience with advanced external fetal monitoring required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Labor & Delivery, High Risk, and OB Triage environment
• Serve as charge nurse for L&D and High Risk Unit as needed
• No tolerance for call-offs; strong attendance commitment required
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on distance from facility
• Candidates must be able to work the full 13-week assignment length
