Expanded functions Dental Assistant (efda)

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Assist dentists during restorative and cosmetic procedures.
Place and contour restorative materials as permitted by state regulations.
Take dental impressions and fabricate temporary restorations.
Remove excess cement from crowns and bridges.
Take and process dental X-rays.
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
Follow infection control and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program.
Current EFDA certification/licensure as required by state regulations.
Radiology/X-ray certification.
CPR/BLS certification.
Strong communication and patient care skills.

License/Certification:

Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) Certification/License.
Dental Assistant Certification (if required by state).
Radiology/X-Ray Certification.
CPR/BLS Certification.
