Merck seeks a credentialed Regional Medical Scientific Director to engage in scientific exchange with healthcare leaders in Michigan and Northern Ohio. The role covers cardiovascular and metabolism therapeutic areas, supporting clinical research, scientific congresses, and knowledge exchange with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships with scientific leaders to provide balanced, factual medical information
Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions and respond to scientific inquiries from external stakeholders
Support clinical research by identifying enrollment barriers, recommending sites, and liaising between company and scientific community
Engage at scientific congresses through preparation, data exchange, and booth staffing
Gather market insights on healthcare practitioner and patient medical and scientific needs

Requirements

PhD, PharmD, DNP, or MD degree required
Minimum 3 years cardiovascular and metabolism therapeutic experience post-degree
Ability to conduct doctoral-level scientific discussions with external stakeholders
Thorough knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and pharmaceutical industry regulations
Strong Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platform proficiency
Excellent stakeholder management and scientific communication skills
