About the Position

Job Title: CST/ORT Profession: CST/ORT Specialty: OR Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 06:00-18:30 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: CST Certifications: CST, BLS Must-Have: CVOR experience and two travel assignments Description: Certification is mandatory. Extensive relevant CVOR experience is required. Candidates must have two travel assignments under their belt. The facility is recognized as one of the top hospitals in the nation. It has received awards and accolades for its clinical quality and patient safety. The surgical unit features 6 operating rooms. Patient ratios require one scrub and one circulator for all cases. Pump cases also require a first assist, which can be an RN or CST. Unit includes one unit secretary, one charge nurse, one PCA, and one core tech. Stryker is the type of equipment used in the unit. Documentation is completed using an electronic system. Scheduling will require on-call shifts assigned and rotated among staff. There is a floating policy in place for infrequent needs. Advanced skills for first assist experience are preferred but not required. Procedures performed include CABG, valve replacement, and pacemaker insertions, among others. This is not a training facility for medical staff. Cases are expected to be very efficient.
