RN Pre Op PACU PRN Mountain View Surgery Center at Gilbert Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director and Clinical Manager, this position provides nursing care to ensure the safety of patients during their procedures in the surgical suite or procedure room. The role also accompanies and monitors the patient as they transfer from Pre‑Op to OR to PACU. Responsibilities Direct and assist in carrying out safe aseptic techniques and procedures Supervise and direct the activities of surgical technicians and supporting personnel as necessary Perform assessments of patients for specific nursing care needs Check rooms for needed supplies and prepare the room for specific patients and procedures Assist in transporting patients to the operating room/procedure room and check patient records for appropriate pre‑op preparation and procedures (i.e., lab, x‑ray, appropriate permits) Perform clean up following procedures, as well as general housekeeping duties Set up the operating room/procedure room with all necessary equipment and supplies Participate in on‑going committees and other educational programs to enhance patient care Review physicians’ preference cards and update as needed Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts and documentation as applicable Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure Possess general familiarity with medical terminology related to anatomy and surgical procedures for an operating room Demonstrate strong communication skills and promote departmental relationships to ensure continuity of care Handle instruments correctly and check for cleanliness and proper working condition Function efficiently as a member of the surgical/procedural team Required Skills Current BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications Ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions of the patient when needed Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and their implementation Ability to perform surgical counts and documentation accurately Capability to manage the sterile field and cleaning of surgical instruments Qualifications Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Must have 1–3 years of previous experience in Pre‑Op/PACU or Critical Care; prior experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation #J-18808-Ljbffr
