Job Summary Up to $7,500 sign‑on bonus based on experience! Job Shift Days, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, every other weekend required. Hours 12 Job Type Part Time Provides high quality professional nursing services in a medical and surgical environment. Responsibilities Maintain knowledge of the nursing process and pathophysiology; demonstrate its use in patient assessment. Develop a plan of care based on assessments of patient problems with appropriate interventions. Ensure that all patients assigned to RN have a plan of care based on assessments and interventions that are appropriate. Organize patient care responsibilities and assign ancillary staff based on skills and experience. Provide patient education based on disease and discharge planning needs; ensure documentation is present on chart. Administer medications safely with no serious medication errors. Maintain patient confidentiality and provide information for informed consent. Observe patient rights, confidentiality, and report incidents of elder abuse when indicated. Document competencies in required skills for the unit; maintain through annual appraisal. Complete documentation as required for chart documents and incident reports. Maintain currency in nursing practice by attending seminars, in‑services, and journal reading. Assist in planning, supervising, and instructing LVNs, CNAs, and students. Supervise and evaluate RNs, LVNs, and patient care technicians. Recognize and appropriately respond to cardiac arrhythmias displayed on a monitor or printed strip. Qualifications Current CA RN license Current CPR certification ACLS within 90 days of hire Dysrhythmia interpretation course or demonstrated competency in interpretation of dysrhythmias by the end of orientation 1 year acute‑care experience preferred Physical Demands Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs.) Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking Lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients Working Conditions Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases Exposed to hazardous anesthetic agents, body fluids, and wastes Occasional exposure to unpleasant patient or unit elements Regularly exposed to the risk of blood‑borne diseases Requires judgment/action which could result in death of patient Employment practices will not be influenced or affected by an applicant’s or employee’s race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
