Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment. This role provides an opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative team environment focusing on the care of critically ill pediatric patients.
Unit Information
- Location: Houston, TX
- Floors: 5th Floor
- Number of Beds: 14-22
- Patient Ratios: Med/Surg 4:1
- Type of Equipment: Various medical equipment utilized in PICU
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Qualifications
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Preferred Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of pediatric nursing experience preferred
Skills & Duties
- Perform routine and complex procedures including:
- Cleft palate repair
- Appendectomy (appy)
- Chest tube management
- Neurological assessments
- Lumbar punctures
- Seizure management
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in managing patients' care.
- Participate in family-centered care and education.
Work Schedule
- Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Weekends: 4 weekend days every 4 weeks
- No on-call responsibilities
