We value curiosity, collaboration, and hands-on problem solving.TECHLITE is seeking an Acoustics Engineer to support the design, testing, and development of acoustic and insulation products. This role blends acoustic analysis, product development, materials science, and cross-functional collaboration, offering hands-on exposure to engineered-to-order solutions.Key Responsibilities:Support the design and development of acoustic panels and insulation systemsPerform acoustic calculations and analysis related to sound absorption, transmission loss, and noise reductionAssist in product testing, validation, and documentationInterpret customer specifications and technical requirementsCollaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are practical, scalable, and cost-effectiveSupport prototype development and product improvement initiativesWork with Sales and Business Development to help translate technical performance into customer-ready solutionsContribute to technical documentation, reports, and product data sheetsParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives within engineering and productionQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Acoustical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field3+ years of experience in acoustics, materials engineering, or product developmentFoundational understanding of: Sound absorption and transmission principlesAcoustic measurement concepts (NRC, STC, etc.)Materials behavior and performanceStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficiency in Excel and familiarity with CAD software preferredAbility to work collaboratively in a small-team manufacturing environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred (But Not Required)Internship experience in architectural acoustics, manufacturing, or materials testingExposure to ASTM acoustic testing standardsExperience working in a production or lab environmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the Acoustics Engineer will perform most of the work in a multi-occupied office environment, with face-to-face customer interactions, and some work is performed on the production floor, near vibrating loud equipment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. At times the employee may be exposed to airborne particulates, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations on the production floor. The noise level can be loud at times.This role is partially sedentary; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a step ladder as necessary during their shift. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The position involves sitting, talking, hearing, climbing stairs, using the elevator, and walking throughout the 8-10-hour shift.
