What You’ll Do:

Draw high-quality blood specimens from patients across diverse age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, ensuring comfort and safety.

Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing, maintaining strict adherence to established procedures and protocols.

Engage with patients in a friendly, professional manner, building trust and explaining procedures clearly to create a positive experience.

Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of procedures, specimen details, and patient information, ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure daily operations run smoothly, supporting process improvements and safety initiatives.

Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work environment that promotes professionalism and infection control.

Support efforts to promote a positive image of the healthcare facility to patients, staff, and the community.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Demonstrated proficiency in adult, pediatric, and geriatric phlebotomy with a strong emphasis on safety and patient comfort.

Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively and compassionately with diverse patient populations.

Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment with minimal supervision.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality when handling sensitive patient data and specimens.

Competency in keyboarding, data entry, and maintaining detailed records.

Physical ability to stand for extended periods, perform venipuncture, and handle laboratory specimens.

Nice to Have Skills:

Medical assistant or paramedic training background.

Phlebotomy certification (required for certain states such as California, Nevada, and Washington).

Previous experience in a retail, hospital, or clinical laboratory setting.

Knowledge of laboratory information systems and electronic health records.

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

A minimum of 6 months of professional phlebotomy experience is required; over one year is preferred.

Prior customer service experience enhances your ability to create positive patient interactions.

Other Requirements:

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed to support staffing needs.

Valid phlebotomy certification is preferred or required depending on the state.

Physical ability to stand for long periods, perform venipunctures, and handle laboratory supplies safely.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate recordkeeping and specimen processing.
