Production Supervisor

Become part of our great team. Performs all duties associated with the Manufacturing Department. Organizes resources on a daily basis to meet production needs. Trains & verifies all employees against standardized work. Leads continuous improvement activities and daily team meetings (Shop Floor Management). Mentors employees on technical and leadership skills. Exercises initiative in troubleshooting and problem solving related to operational problems. Ensures compliance to customer requirements. Resolves personnel issues. Principal Responsibilities Ensure team members are following safety protocol including using proper PPE. Train employees to standardized work and verify compliance Write and update standardized work instructions Lead problem solving initiatives with team members, align manufacturing resources Lead Shop Floor Management meeting Track key area KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and update SFM board Schedule/assign team members to daily work assignments Analyze performance of manufacturing processes Mentor team leaders & operators on technical and leadership skills Relieve and otherwise backfill for team leaders due to breaks, absences, etc. Assist in paperwork completion and verification Resolve personnel issues, discipline employees as needed Troubleshoot processes/equipment as needed/escalated from Team Leaders/Operators Complete other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Manager Supervise manufacturing employees (approximately 40) Relationships The Production Supervisor reports to and is accountable to the Operations Manager. The Production Supervisor shall work cooperatively with other departments (i.e. Quality, Customer Service, Shipping and Accounting) to assure the products sold achieve the customer specific requirements. Required Competencies Education Minimum High School Education or equivalent. Training Basic rubber manufacturing process training DPS Basics training Skills Strong communicator Problem solving skills Understands & can apply lean tools Able to identify waste Team player Reliable, with strong work ethic Accurate information gathering Meeting facilitation Mentoring Fundamental knowledge of area and processes Computer literacy Experience Knowledge and experience in rubber manufacturing. 1 year experience in manufacturing environment.
