Estimator

The Estimator helps grow Clark’s capabilities on both design‑bid‑build and design‑build projects. This key member of our team will passionately help promote the development of creative, innovative solutions to construction challenges and enjoy the acquisition of winning profitable work. Responsibilities Maintain high standards of professionalism and ethical behavior when representing the Company. Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects. Perform portions of estimates for multi‑discipline projects, including scope determinations and accurate quantity survey. Solicit subcontractor and/or vendor quotes, evaluate them for scope, and lead meetings with subcontractors to develop complete scopes and discuss strategy. Perform risk and contract management responsibilities as required on bids. Assist in developing a strategy to achieve minority participation requirements. Review total estimate to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to formal quotation. Monitor comparison of estimated costs to actual costs. Prepare responses to RFQ(s) and RFP(s). Research and promote continuous improvement in developing more efficient estimating methods. Examine construction sites and observe unusual or challenging conditions. Qualifications Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management or related degree preferred but not required. 3+ years of related experience, preferably as a commercial construction estimator. Passionate about profession, dedicated to winning work, and willing to take pride and ownership of work product. Field experience is desirable. Demonstrate the ability to either lead or be part of a team for multiple projects and pursuits. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to multi‑task. Detail oriented, technically sound and has good communication skills. Familiar with both conceptual and self‑perform estimating. Physical and Work Environment The role is active, hands‑on, with frequent on‑site presence. Requires frequent standing, navigating uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists. Physically demanding, requiring full range of motion, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. On‑site work may involve all weather conditions, moderate to loud noise, work in elevated or confined areas, and proximity to mechanical equipment. Office time may involve prolonged sitting for computer work, document review, and meetings.
