You begin the morning on the floor with Operations leaders, reviewing yesterday’s near-miss and aligning on today’s critical tasks. By mid-morning, you’re walking the line to assess machine-specific hazards, refining a lockout/tagout standard with Maintenance, and updating a job safety analysis for a new process. After lunch, you facilitate an incident investigation—guiding the team through root cause methodology and locking in corrective and preventive actions. You finish by coaching supervisors ahead of a regulatory visit and aligning on the next iteration of the site safety improvement plan.

This position partners directly with Operations to drive EHS ownership and accountability. You report to the Safety Manager and maintain a dotted-line relationship with the Plant Manager for your area of responsibility, serving as the connective tissue between EHS strategy and day-to-day execution.

• Operate as a seasoned HSE resource (5+ years) with strong command of OSHA requirements, root cause analysis, and independent decision-making in higher-risk environments.
• Act as a subject matter expert in one or more occupational safety domains; support regional initiatives and, as needed, projects at other Prysmian North America facilities.
• Focus primarily on Health & Safety while also providing Environmental support such as waste inspections, spill response/cleanup, and equipment pump-outs.

• Provide technical health and safety guidance to Operations; be the go-to problem solver for shop-floor risks.
• Design, coordinate, and deliver EHS training for employees and leaders.
• Own the development and execution of the site safety improvement plan.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement layered defenses to control hazards.
• Co-create equipment-specific LOTO procedures and standard work with Operations, Maintenance, and Training.
• Lead injury and near-miss management: documentation, investigations, root cause determination, and corrective actions.
• Participate in new product/process reviews, including process hazard analyses (PHA), operator training, and job safety analyses (JSA).
• Interpret and apply Federal and State occupational safety and health regulations; ensure site compliance.
• Support internal and external audits; interface with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Manufacturing, Environmental, or a related technical field; equivalent HSE experience may substitute for a degree.
• 3–5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Professional certifications (ASP, GSP, CSP, CHST, or similar) preferred.
• Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and communication strengths.
• Working familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, NIOSH, ANSI, NEC, and TCEQ.
• Knowledge of Texas Workers’ Compensation regulations.
• Exposure to ISO management systems (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001) is a plus.
• Ability to travel periodically for meetings and participation in audits at other sites.
