Position Details Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg 5W Location Mercy Hospital South – 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128 Schedule and Shift Full‑Time – 36 hours/week, Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) Sign‑On Bonus Experienced Nurses: Up to $10,000. New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience): Up to $5,000. About the Unit Med Surg 5W cares for adult medical patients with diagnoses such as small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. This unit provides an environment to strengthen core Med Surg skills, enhance assessment abilities, and manage patients with diverse medical needs. Responsibilities Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain professional accountability. Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinate patient care with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality. Perform duties in accordance with Mercy mission, values, and service standards. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing school: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or possess compact licensure. Previous hospital experience preferred and may be required depending on the unit. Preferred Qualifications BSN. Additional state licensure or specialty certifications. Prior experience in a specialty area or similar clinical setting. Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire. Physical Requirements Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift. Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties. Why Mercy?
