Donor Procurement Coordinator - Abdominal Transplant

Position Details As a Donor Procurement Coordinator, you play an extremely valuable role in the facilitation of organ recovery and transplant. Your work will include taking organ offers, reviewing donors, contacting facilities, examining labs and identifying high‑risk behaviors in potential donors. Once an offer is approved, you will ensure proper admission coordination. Schedule This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working remotely in Ohio on 12‑hour shifts Sunday through Saturday between 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. Responsibilities Comply with OPTN/UNOS requirements for post‑transplant documentation of donor and transplant activities. Serve as contact for all potential offers for transplant from local, regional and national organ procurement organizations. Organize procurement team and dispatch team to donor site within required time frame and coordinate air or ground transportation of organs. Serve as resource for organ recovery and preservation and assist in training of organ preservation employees. Ensure compliance with OPTN/UNOS requirements. Orient new residents and fellows to renal procurement, renal allocation and regulatory requirements. Develop and present professional education programs as needed. Obtain, analyze and report pertinent data regarding potential donors and accepted organs for transplants. Abstract data and enter it into the transplant database. Minimum Qualifications Degree or diploma from an accredited school of Nursing, Respiratory Therapy or Paramedics. Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) by the American Board for Transplant Certification (ABTC) within one year of hire. One year of experience as an Organ Procurement Coordinator. Clinical experience in critical care nursing, organ procurement or transplant. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Respiratory Therapist or Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in donor procurement. Physical Requirements Clinical exposure to risk. Ability to be available 24 hours a day when assigned. Personal Protective Equipment Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Pay Range Minimum hourly: $37.50 Maximum hourly: $37.50 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
