Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Audiologist and / or Hearing Instrument Specialist, where you will play a vital role in improving patients’ quality of life through expert hearing care. Responsibilities
- Perform detailed hearing assessments including pure-tone audiometry, speech testing, and specialized diagnostic evaluations to identify hearing impairments.
- Conduct vestibular testing to evaluate disorders related to inner ear function.
- Diagnose hearing and related health issues by applying medical terminology, physiology knowledge, and clinical audiology principles.
- Fit, program, and adjust hearing aids using advanced hearing aid programming software to ensure optimal performance tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Manage patient care through thorough consultations, explaining test results, treatment options, and hearing aid features with clear client communication.
- Utilize patient management software (EMR/EHR) systems for accurate documentation of evaluations, fittings, follow-ups, and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with otolaryngologists (ear, nose, throat specialists) for complex cases such as cochlear implants or medical diagnosis referrals.
- Maintain aseptic technique during procedures to ensure patient safety and infection control standards
- Lead patient education efforts on hearing health maintenance, device usage, and troubleshooting to enhance client satisfaction.
- Demonstrate organizational skills by managing appointments efficiently while maintaining detailed records of each case.
- Stay current with industry advancements in diagnostic evaluation tools, hearing aid technology, and healthcare regulations to ensure best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Audiology or Speech-Language Pathology with a NC audiology certification; or NC Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist
- Proven experience in clinical audiology practice including hearing assessments, hearing aid fitting, and programming expertise.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to the auditory system and vestibular function; familiarity with otolaryngology practices is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using patient management software and specialized testing equipment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to patients.
- Demonstrate organizational skills for managing multiple appointments while maintaining accurate records.
- Customer service orientation combined with sales skills to recommend appropriate products confidently while prioritizing patient needs.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team; leadership qualities are a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance carriers that are relevant to audiology and healthcare diagnosis procedures is essential.
