Hatch is seeking a dynamicJunior Rail Systems Engineer – Traction Power and Electrical. Reporting to theInfrastructuregroup, you will support offices globally working from ourAmbler, PAoffice location.

Qualifications:

• Roles at this level are filled by recent or soon to be university/college graduates with little or no professional experience but possessing relevant skills

• Preferred bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a relevant field

• Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Work with an elite group of rail systems design professionals focusing on North American projects, with opportunities in both the heavy rail and transit markets

• Participate in design, simulation, testing, and commissioning activities on various transportation projects with focus on Traction Power and Electrical infrastructure

• Collaborate with team members locally and globally to accomplish project objectives

You bring to the role:

• Strong academic record

• Previous co-op or summer work terms within metallurgical or chemical process plants or engineering is an asset  

• Experience involving electric utilities, power electronics, electric power, simulations, or multi-system integration

• Familiarity with technical writing and simulation software tools

• The following skills/experience are a plus:

• EIT certification

• Simulations and databases

• Field testing

• CAD

• Power background

• Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects

• Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challenges

• Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Perform assignments related to your sector

• Assist with preparation of detailed design for projects

• Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications

• Coordination with other technicians/engineers on projects

• Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed
