Beloit Memorial Hospital is looking to add a Registered Nurse to our Recovery/PACU team at Beloit Memorial Hospital.Shift: 1stSchedule: 8a-6:30pHours per week: Varied/Per DiemBenefits Status: Not EligibleDepartment: Recovery (PACU)The Registered Nurse -Recovery/PACU is responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating patient care across the lifespan. Working under general supervision, the Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.Registered Nurse -Recovery/PACU provide specialized nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. The Registered Nurse -Recovery/PACU responsibilities include preparing patients for surgery, monitoring and supporting patients throughout the perioperative and recovery phases, assisting surgeons and the surgical team during procedures, and ensuring safe, effective post-anesthesia care. Registered Nurse -Recovery/PACU also assist the surgeon and the surgical team in their tasks.The Registered Nurse -Recovery/PACU will:Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. In addition to general nursing care, responsibilities of OR/PACU Nurses include - where applicable (but are not limited to):Work with all members of the health care team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout their surgical experience.Serves as the communication liaison to family and members of the operating team.Assist in patient education during all phases of their experience at the Center.Monitor use of and charge for all supplies used. Assist with inventory control by proper count of supplies/time used.Records all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format with computer software application appropriate to position.Preps operating room for patient/procedure.Identifies actual and potential risk to patients and others and takes action to minimize or eliminate risk and maximize safety.Monitors patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout the care continuum.Must be able to make quick assessments of patients and be able to handle emergency situations appropriately.Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.Depending on setting, may also: Direct care provided by licensed practical nurses and nursing aides.During the surgical procedure, OR Nurses can take the role of: Circulating Nurse, with the additional duties as assigned.Registered Nurse -Recovery/PACU may be asked to float among various clinical services, as directed/needed.Job Requirements:Graduate of accredited school of nursingADN, Diploma, BSN, or MSN degree acceptableState of Wisconsin Nursing licensure or permit requiredOn call requirements, 30-minute response timeBasic Life Support/CPR within 3 monthsAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or the ability to obtain within three (3) months of hirePediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hireStart your career with Beloit Health System and Apply Today!
