Design Release Engineer

Position OverviewWe are looking for a Design Release Engineer (DRE) with deep expertise in seat complete engineering. This role will be responsible for the design, development, and release of world-class seating systems and components. Additionally, the DRE ensures compliance with performance, cost, and timing objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of all seating components along with interfacing commodities such as interior cockpit, trim, restraints, body, and electrical.Key Responsibilities:Component Ownership:Lead design and release of various seating components as they relate to the final seat assembly and JIT deliverEnsure designs meet functional, aesthetic, durability, and regulatory requirementsEngineering Execution:Lead the design & development activities according to Stellantis design practiceEnsure seat system packages correctly and integrates seamlessly within the vehicleManage change control through CN systems.Supplier Interface:Work closely with suppliers on design feasibility, resolving engineering issues, manufacturing constraints & quality initiativesSupport DFMEA, DVP&R and validation activitiesProgram Delivery:Track and meet program timing, cost, and quality targetsResolve technical issues promptly and escalate risks as neededSupport launch and plant build eventsQualifications:Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field from an ABET-accredited universityExperience:5+ years in automotive seating systems design, development & launchStrong knowledge of injection molding, tooling, and material propertiesFamiliarity with automotive standards and validation processesSkills:Proficiency in Teamcenter/NXStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExperience in managing projects, including timelines and budgetsMUST HAVE excellent communication, collaboration and supplier management skillsPreferred:Experience with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis (RSS)Knowledge of sustainability initiatives and lightweighting strategiesFamiliar with APQP processesWhy Join Us?At Stellantis, you’ll work on innovative seating solutions that define the future of mobility.
