Job Details: Job Location: Meadowview Behavioral Hospital - Peoria, IL 61615, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $62,400.00 - $66,560.00 Salary/year, Job Shift: Any, JOIN OUR TEAM AS OUR DIRECTOR OF DIETARY! Annual bonus opportunity! Your Work Matters How will you make a difference? Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee daily dietary department operations. Plan, prepare, and serve meals according to established menus and facility standards. Ensure kitchen sanitation and safety practices meet regulatory requirements, including Joint Commission and CMS standards, as well as local, state, and federal guidelines. Maintain proper food storage, receiving, and inventory controls. Order food and supplies, ensuring cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards. Supervise dietary staff, including scheduling, task oversight, and department workflow. Monitor staff performance and support employee development, including participation in appraisals and recommendations related to promotion, discipline, and termination when appropriate. Ensure food preparation meets patient dietary needs, including modified diets as prescribed and approved by appropriate clinical staff. Ensure dietary equipment and kitchen areas are kept clean and in proper working condition. Maintain compliance with all safety and sanitation procedures. Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for: Education & Licensure: High school diploma or GED required. A culinary degree is preferred; equivalent work experience may be accepted in place of formal education. Food handler permit required. Experience: Five (5) years of quantity cooking experience is preferred, including knowledge of modified diets. Three (3) years of kitchen supervisory experience strongly preferred. Additional Requirements: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to maintain compliance with safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards. Compensation: This is a full-time position with an expected compensation range of $46,000 – $65,500 annually, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
