Application Java Developer

Title: Application Java Developer Location: Raleigh, NC Duration: 12 Months Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain backend applications and services using Java, Python, and Perl Build RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration points with internal and external systems Modernize and refactor existing Perl-based or legacy applications into modern architectures Create automation scripts, system tools, and scheduled jobs to support IT operations Write clean, efficient, and scalable code following best practices and coding standards Design and implement SQL queries, stored procedures, and data-processing workflows Participate in architecture discussions, technical design sessions, and sprint planning Debug and resolve complex issues across multiple languages and platforms Deploy applications to cloud or on premise environments (Azure, AWS, GCP, Linux/Unix) Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions Maintain documentation for systems, integrations, and processes Required Skills & Experience Proficiency in Java (Spring Boot, Maven) Proficiency in Python Solid understanding of REST APIs, backend architecture, and microservices Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, Ingres) Experience with Git/Subversion, Linux/Unix environments, and version‑controlled development Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills across languages and environments Preferred Qualifications Hands‑on experience with Perl for scripting, system utilities, or legacy app maintenance Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) Experience with ETL, data pipelines, or batch processing Experience with version control (Git/Subversion) and CI/CD pipelines Familiarity with legacy system migration projects – Preferred – 5 years #J-18808-Ljbffr HonorVet Technologies
