Community Engagement Internship (Summer 2027)

Zipline’s Community Engagement Team plays an important public facing role in Zipline’s operations They are responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with local government officials, civic organizations, business groups, neighborhoods, and schools Their work helps individuals and organizations understand the impact of Zipline’s service on the community, job creation, and the future of a logistics system that serves all humans equally Does creating and maintaining important relationships with multiple layers of stakeholders within local communities come naturally to you? Are you an engaging communicator who drives powerful narratives to create excitement and adoption of big and bold ideas? This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about community building, communications, and social impact You’ll help design and implement strategies to engage our community members, strengthen partnerships, and support outreach initiatives Assist in planning, promoting, and executing community events, workshops, and virtual meetups Support the development of content for newsletters, social media, and other communication channels Respond to community inquiries and engage with members across platforms Conduct research on community needs, trends, and engagement strategies Help track engagement metrics and compile reports on community feedback and outcomes Provide general administrative support to the community engagement team Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. You must have completed the second year of your undergraduate studiesExperience with social media platforms and/or digital tools for community engagement (e.g., Slack, Facebook Groups)Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasksCreative thinker who brings enthusiasm and initiativeStrong written and verbal communication skillsPassion for community building and social impactMust be able to travel frequently throughout Dallas, Texas, Austin, Texas, Los Angeles, California, OR Phoenix, Arizona. Requires transportation (not company provided) and the ability to independently travel to operational sites, events, communities, and partner locations as neededThis internship is a full-time position, in‑person at our Dallas, Texas, Austin, Texas, Los Angeles, California OR Phoenix, Arizona office.
