Utility Steward/DishwasherMeriwether Godsey is looking for a full-time utility steward/dishwasher at an independent school located in the heart of Northwest Washington, DC. Must be able to work as follows: Monday-Friday 7:30 am-3:30 pm.Day time hours, full time, free meals, uniforms provided, $18.00 per hour.Job ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate dish-machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots and pans: scrape, separate, and organize itemsNote and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediatelyTransport related supplies and assist in setup of dining and serving areasClean dining and serving areas throughout and after meal period and replenish to ensure service without interruptionSetup and use three-compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pansMaintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, to include sweeping, mopping floors and removal of trashAssist with receiving and storage of food products and food preparation following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safetyPerform all duties in accordance with food safety and sanitation best practicesOther duties, as assignedRequirementsMust be able to pass an FBI background checkPrevious utility/dishwasher experience requiredAbility to measure products and convert units of measureAwareness of commercial kitchen equipment and how to perform routine maintenance and cleaning; work with sanitizing and cleaning chemicalsReliability and a willingness to work in a hot, humid environmentGood communication skills and a great attitudeBenefitsCompetitive pay, uniforms, meals, training, mentorship, and benefits (health, vision, dental, etc.)Meriwether Godsey offers significant opportunities for growth and career advancement.
