Additional Information About the Role BJC's Central Staffing Office has an opening for an experienced Med/Surg/Tele nurse for a Regional Float opportunity, part of our Long‑Term Assignment program. Must have 2+ years Med/Surg/Tele experience, and be willing to travel between BJC facilities in MO & IL. Must be able to obtain IL RN license. Schedule will be assigned; location will be assigned for a 2-6 week schedule period. Compensation & Benefits $15/hour float differential Shift differentials for nights, weekends & holidays BSN differential Mileage reimbursement Three 12‑hour shifts, 7 a‑7 p Every 3rd weekend; 2 holidays per year Preferred Requirements BSN Role Purpose A BJC Central Staffing Office nurse will float to 12 BJC Healthcare hospitals within their Medical, Surgical, and Telemetry units, providing direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis and plan implementation. Responsibilities Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance and professional development. Use medical‑surgical nursing practice standards to improve quality of care, evaluating effectiveness of nursing practice and developing care plans. Establish relationships and serve as advocate for patients, families, significant others and interprofessional team. Apply evidence based practice and scientific knowledge to ensure patient‑centered care. Utilize effective communication to collaborate with patients, families and healthcare providers in culturally sensitive, ethical, legal, holistic decision making. Maintain constant state of alertness as this is a safety‑sensitive position.
