Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is based at a healthcare facility located in Lewiston, Maine. This role involves providing specialized care for neonates and infants within a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The RN will work on a 12-hour night shift, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care to neonatal and adult patients.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications include Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). A minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery (L&D), Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP), and postpartum care is required. Candidates must be able to manage a three-couplet assignment, triage obstetrical patients, and use external fetal heart monitoring (EFM). Additional skills include managing peripheral IVs, administering antihypertensive and insulin drips, assisting with vaginal deliveries, and performing newborn assessments.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Level 1 nursery, Mother/Baby units, and circulating for C-Sections is highly regarded.
• Additional Information: The unit accommodates 24 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6. Key equipment includes Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), IV systems, radiant warmers, and thermoregulation devices. The ideal candidate will have experience with neonatal and adult patient populations, demonstrate strong triage skills, and be adaptable to the units clinical environment.
