Position Overview

We are seeking highly skilled CNC Machinist Technicians to join its Commercial Flight Controls Division in Ogden, UT. This role focuses on precision machining and requires hands-on experience with CNC equipment, particularly Swiss lathes, grinders, mills, and some manual machining. Ideal candidates will have strong technical expertise and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Shift Details

• 1st Shift: Monday – Friday | 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday | 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM (+$2 differential)
• Weekend Shift: Friday – Sunday | 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM (36 hours, +$6 differential)

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC and conventional machining equipment for complex parts
• Perform precision machining with tight tolerances and complex geometries
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
• Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize processes for efficiency and quality
• Run multiple machines simultaneously and adapt tooling as needed
• Inspect finished parts using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM, etc.)
• Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) and ensure equipment calibration
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve design or process issues
• Contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Train and mentor junior machinists as needed

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of CNC machining experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment
• Strong experience with CNC machines (Swiss lathe, grinders, mills, manual machining)
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and engineering specifications
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection techniques
• Knowledge of advanced shop math (including trigonometry)
• Ability to perform complex machine setups and troubleshooting
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
• Experience mentoring or training team members
• Exposure to specialized machining certifications
