Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner)

Advanced Practice ProviderNorthwest Acute Care Specialists, P.C. (NACS) is an independent emergency medicine and ambulatory care practice group that contracts exclusively with Legacy Health to provide emergency medicine and urgent care professional services.The APP is an integral part of the Emergency Medical team and assists the flow and direct care of the patients within the Emergency Department. They can either be a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP).Our EDs are staffed at all times by a Board-Certified Emergency Physicians. Our APPs are an important member of the Emergency Department team and must have the ability to function efficiently, at times independently without direct supervision, and collectively within the team setting is a must.NACS APPs are required to comply within their scope of practice, hospital credentials, other laws, regulations, NACS policy, and other applicable professional standards of practice.QualificationsBachelor's Degree from an accredited University or CollegeMaster's Degree as required by specific Advanced Practice Provider roleDemonstrated ability to satisfy standards of performance delineated by law and associated professional practice standards, the latter set forth as an addendum to the position descriptionAbility to manage heavy workload with multiple priorities and deadlinesAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writingRegular and consistent attendance at workCurrent licensure as required by specific Advanced Practice Provider governing board(s)Certified Nurse Practitioner or certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician AssistantsMust have a current Oregon and/or Washington NP or PA license prior to start dateRegistered with Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and authorized to prescribe medications according to the State Board of MedicinePrevious Emergency Medicine experience as a PA or NPPosition DutiesClinical ActivitiesAssessing and treating urgent care and emergency care patients.
