Team is seeking an Electronic Packaging Designer to work with a cross-functional team to assist development, design, and implementation of radar systems. The position will follow the product from conceptualization through hardware integration and test, as well as modifying current products. The position will interface with multi-disciplined engineers, Thermal/Structural Analysts, and occasionally customer counterparts. The position will require utilizing CAD and PDM software to prepare and publish detailed drawings with proper tolerances/dimensions/notes, as well as generating drawing templates and drafting aides in conformance with company standards.Essential FunctionsCreate CAD models of custom machined parts and assembliesConceptualize new design solutionsDocument design requirements with fully-defined engineering drawingsResearch COTS components for suitability to requirementsUpdate documentation per engineering directionCreate drawings for Circuit Card Assemblies, electrical cables, & other electro-mechanical assembliesMastery of CAD modeling best-practicesStrong 3D visualization aptitudeProficient with CAD softwares; Solidworks and/or CREOClear & concise verbal and written communicationExperience using Microsoft Office productsPerform trade studies between design alternativesPhysical Requirements (such as ability to move up to 20 lbs.Occasional local travel may be required.Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.QualificationsRequires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.Preferred Additional SkillsCompetency in ANSI/ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)Excellent people skills, collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.Experience in metal fabrication processesL3Harris Technologies is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
