Pump Mechanic - 3151Responsibilities of the Pump Mechanic include, but are not limited to:Repair/fabricate a variety of centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, and reciprocating pumps, gear reducers and related rotating equipmentTroubleshoot, disassemble, inspect and repair a variety of rotating equipment including centrifugal pumps (both single and multi-stage), gear pumps, reciprocating pumps and metering pumps, gear reducers, blowers (both vacuum and pressure), mechanical seals, and many other types of equipmentInstall equipment using manufacturer specifications ensuring proper alignment balance and tolerancesRead and understand an IOM and BOMMaintain safe operations by adhering to all safety procedures and regulationsAble to perform field service at customer site representing DXPField service responsibilities include, but are not limited to, field pump repairs, troubleshooting fire pump control panels (training provided), and performing fire pump testing (training provided)Qualifications of the Pump Mechanic include, but are not limited to:Good mechanical aptitude requiredExperience working with rotating equipment a plusApplicant must be customer drivenBe able to pass a drug screen, background check, and physicalAbility to work well with others in a team environmentMust have positive "can-do" attitudeHave the ability or learn to read and interpret mechanical drawings, and service manuals and possess ability to work with basic mathAbility to use a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instrumentsDemonstrated ability to work safely and follow safety procedures and regulationsDemonstrated ability to act in a self-directed manner with no immediate supervisionA background, physical, lift assessment and drug screening is requiredPhysical Demand: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. multiple times daily unassisted, 75 lbs. assisted, and push or pull 100 lbs. assisted; must be able to stand/walk for extended periods Working Conditions: Must be willing to work inside and outside as required; may be exposed to elements and outdoor temperatures Training/Certifications: Professional skilled training is a plusShift Time/Overtime: Typical work is 7:00am - 3:30pm and overtime can be required but is limited Travel: Must have acceptable driving record according to company guidelines Education: High School Diploma, vocational education, industrial or mechanical education is a plus but not requiredDXP offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time regular employees, normally working a minimum of 30 hours per week, including: medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, paid holidays, life and disability insurance, and additional supplemental benefits.
