About the Role
The Company is seeking a Head of Legal to join their team. The successful candidate will be a strategic and hands-on leader, responsible for building and defining the legal function from the ground up. This role is pivotal in the development of an AI operating system for oncology, with a focus on automating complex clinical and administrative workflows. The Head of Legal will not only be the architect of the legal framework but also the operator, shaping product decisions, building compliance infrastructure, and establishing governance frameworks for long-term defensibility. Applicants must have 8-15+ years of legal experience, with a background in health tech, digital health, healthcare SaaS, or regulated AI. Deep expertise in HIPAA, health data privacy, and enterprise SaaS contracting is essential. The role involves advising on a range of legal and regulatory matters, including HIPAA, HITECH, state privacy laws, and emerging AI regulatory frameworks. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial and enterprise enablement, AI and data governance, and corporate and strategic legal matters. Nice-to-haves include experience with FDA-regulated software, exposure to value-based care or payer/provider systems, and a background in a venture-backed startup. This is a unique opportunity to be the first senior legal hire with full ownership of the function, directly influence product architecture and company strategy, and shape AI governance at a critical regulatory inflection point.
