Senior Project Manager

Walgreens is building and launching Micro Fulfillment Centers (MFCs) which will fill selected prescriptions for Walgreens retail pharmacies in the MFC's service area. This role will be supporting the pharmacy regulatory and licensing team.

Required Skills:

• Proven ability to concurrently manage multiple projects with cross functional workstreams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to capture accurate meeting notes (electronically) during a call/meeting, and capture/maintain accurate documentation
• Ability to communicate with all levels within an organization; Experience working with/reporting project status to Senior level leaders.
• Strong skills with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams
• Prior pharmacy licensing and regulatory experience
• Familiarity with pharmacy applications; Prior IT Project Management experience
• Ability to utilize standard program and project templates
• Healthcare experience

Job Duties:

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for project work typically which has a substantial impact on the corporation/division. Responsible for project planning, project tracking, scope management, change control management, risk management, and quality assurance of the development project team. Develop complex program Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). Establishes organization-wide project management strategies. Ensures projects are completed according to time and budget schedules, and that objectives conform to divisions overall standards and operations objectives and user requirements. Conducts complex program and project management assessments. Exhibits strong leadership skills and leads project teams. Manages the integration of project management within an organization resulting in culture change. Develops project management training classes and programs. Identifies new business opportunities. Acquires Walgreen product and business process knowledge from domain experts and use the information in every aspect of leading analysis, design and implementation efforts. Specifies requirements, scope level of effort, assess team member strengths and give work assignments with delivery dates in mind. Resolves project conflicts with affected management. Bachelors Degree and 8+ years of project management experience. Extensive experience developing project plan including charter, scope, project management approach, management plans, financial forecast and schedule. Creates detailed plans for consulting projects. Extensive experience in working with cross-functional teams and staff of all levels. Experience managing project budgets of at least $1M. Strong communication skills.

Job Requirements:

This role is on the Business side. The main focus for this individual will be on pharmacy licensing & regulatory. Previous consulting experience is preferred because this role will interact with different levels of people, & the PM needs to know how to communicate with the various levels. Strong communication and presentation skills are needed as this individual will work closely with business leadership (Director and Sr Director levels) & needs to be able to accurately summarize project status and dot the i’s and cross the t’s in presentations for the project. Need the ability to capture accurate meeting notes on the computer screen/monitor while running a meeting. The ideal candidate will have strong experience w/ healthcare including a background in pharmacy (ex. pharmacy tech experience), with mail order experience. Note: The manager does not want a lot of short-term positions in a candidate’s work history.

Desired Skills & Experience:

Solid problem solving and analysis skills. Advanced skills in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio. PMP certification preferred. Experience with multiple project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, etc.
