Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 17 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift – 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Shift Length: 12 Hours
Schedule: Every Other Weekend & Some Holidays
Weekly Gross Pay: $2,500 – $2,700/week, based on experience
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 17-week travel contract in an Emergency Department (ED) setting.
The RN will provide high-quality nursing care to adult and pediatric patients , perform comprehensive assessments, deliver appropriate nursing interventions, and manage patients with varying levels of acuity in a fast-paced acute-care environment.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in the Emergency Department.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
- Provide safe, effective, and compassionate care in an acute-care emergency setting.
- Assess and manage patients with varying levels of acuity and complex medical needs.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and clinical care.
- Perform the majority of required patient-care skills with minimal orientation and supervision.
- Follow established clinical, safety, infection-control, and emergency-care protocols.
- Work every other weekend and some holidays as required.
- Current and active New York State RN license/registration .
- Current BLS certification with the ability to recertify as required.
- Minimum 1.5 years of recent RN experience within the past 2 years in an acute-care facility of similar size and complexity.
- 2+ years of nursing experience is preferred/required based on applicable skills criteria.
- Recent Emergency Department experience with both adult and pediatric patients .
- Experience managing patients across varying levels of acuity.
- Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience is highly preferred.
- EPIC EMR experience is highly preferred.
- Travel nurses should have experience working in hospitals of comparable or greater size and complexity or within trauma-center environments.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced emergency environment.
