JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Drama Coach - High School
Evaluated by: Principal or Principal Designee
Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess the knowledge and skills required for a successful drama club.
Length of Employment: School Year
Salary: As per Wayne County pay schedule
Responsibilities: In addition to established laws, policies, rules and regulations, the Drama Coach shall have the following responsibilities and duties:
1. Produce and direct student dramatic presentations for the student body, general public and interscholastic drama competitions.
2. Provide appropriate training in dramatic skills.
3. Supervise students at rehearsals, performances and during travel time.
4. Ensure that county and school rules and regulations are enforced while students are under the coach's supervision.
5. Consult with the principal to determine the budget.
6. Consult with the principal to schedule rehearsal time and performances.
7. Make recommendations for special recognition programs for participants and selecting appropriate awards.
8. Attend meetings, clinics, and tournaments whenever possible.
9. Maintain equipment, costumes and props.
10. Be responsible for ordering materials and scripts.
11. Be responsible for assuring payment of royalties.
12. Select plays to be performed.
13. Conduct auditions and select performers.
14. Select and supervise the stage crew.
15. Other responsibilities as assigned by a school administrator.
