Cardiac Interventional Technologist II (EP Lab)

About the Job MedStar Health is hiring a Cardiac Intervention Technologist II to work in the EP lab at Medstar Union Memorial Hospital. The technologist will perform angiographic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures, managing patient care before, during, and after procedures. Primary Duties Administer contrast media into coronary arteries as directed by the cardiologist during cardiac catheterization procedures. Recognize physiological and electrocardiographic changes to determine appropriate injection pressure. Apply knowledge of cardiac contraction physiology and arrhythmias, providing appropriate patient care. Act as first assistant to the physician, scrubbing independently and aiding manipulation and placement of guide wires and catheters. Maintain orderly patient flow, schedule procedures, and manage supply inventory. Enter patient and supply information into RIS or hospital computer system. Perform hemodynamic monitoring and record calculations for cardiovascular procedures, including electrophysiology and ablation. Operate imaging equipment and respond to on‑call emergencies per department policy. Handle pre‑procedural duties such as sterile tray prep, patient education, and confirmation of lab work. Manage post‑procedural duties including observation of catheter insertion site, providing discharge instructions, and patient transportation. Qualifications Completion of an AMA‑approved Radiologic Technology school of at least two years. At least two years of diagnostic radiology experience. Experience in interventional radiology or cardiac catheterization, or equivalent. American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certification or registration. Radiology Technologist license in Maryland. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or eligibility. Compensation USD $42.82 – $78.27 per hour. #J-18808-Ljbffr
