AIRPORT MAINTENANCE SERVICES MANAGER (ELECTRICAL) (CLASS CODE 8050)

Job Overview Highly responsible supervisory, administrative, and technical work directing and coordinating the work of electricians and maintenance personnel engaged in the construction, installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of electrical, communications, and electronics systems, including panel boards, communication systems, lighting, runway lighting, circuits, generators, pumps, motors, and related equipment. The supervisor may be called upon to perform electrical work, troubleshoot problems, review and update complex electrical plans, confer with contractors, consultants, and government agencies regarding code compliance, monitor all project activities, document issues, recommend solutions, prepare maintenance schedules, produce purchase requisitions, and generate status reports. The position is considered essential; employees must report for natural disasters or other declared emergencies. Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate the work of electricians and maintenance personnel. Exercise technical expertise in electrical, communications, and electronics systems. Participate in electrical work as required. Troubleshoot electrical problems and maintain accurate documentation. Review and update electrical plans and ensure compliance with electrical code. Communicate with contractors, consultants, and government agencies. Monitor project activities, recommend solutions, and prepare maintenance schedules. Produce purchase requisitions and status reports. Respond to electrical emergency situations. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license; eligible for coverage under the airport’s auto liability insurance policy. Valid Class "A" Master Electrical License, Louisiana State Electrical License, or Journeymen’s License; out‑of‑area licenses acceptable. Must provide proof of an active license (City of New Orleans or Louisiana State) within 120 days of hire. Eight (8) years of full‑time paid experience as a licensed electrician with at least five (5) years at an airport facility. OR Eight (8) years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance, engineering, design, commissioning, maintenance, or manufacturing, with at least five (5) years recent in large, complex work environments such as hospitals, municipalities, post‑secondary campuses, or industrial plants, and at least three (3) years supervisory experience managing teams. Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for two years of non‑supervisory experience.
