Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, build, and enhance enterprise software applications, AI-driven solutions, and cloud-based technology platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong software development expertise, architectural thinking, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.The ideal candidate has deep experience in software engineering, cloud computing, data architecture, enterprise integrations, and modern AI technologies. In this role, you will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from architecture and design through implementation, deployment, optimization, and support.This role works closely with software engineers, product managers, architects, AI specialists, data engineers, and business stakeholders across distributed teams in the United States and India.As a premier consulting and technology firm, alliant is focused on providing solutions to help businesses transform and thrive, while serving as their ongoing growth partner.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and support scalable, secure, and well-documented enterprise applications and technology platforms throughout the software development lifecycle.Translate business requirements into technical solutions and develop reusable applications, APIs, frameworks, and services while improving system performance, reliability, and security.Design and document application and system architectures, lead architectural reviews, define integrations and data flows, and evaluate trade-offs related to scalability, performance, security, maintainability, and cost.Design and implement AI-powered solutions leveraging generative AI, AI agents, machine learning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), large language models, Azure AI services, Azure AI Search, Semantic Kernel, and enterprise business systems.Design and develop modern data architectures and pipelines supporting structured, unstructured, relational, graph, and vector-based data for AI and analytics solutions.Ensure solutions meet security, scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, performance, and compliance requirements while proactively mitigating technical risks and vulnerabilities.Mentor engineers, promote engineering best practices, collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to Agile delivery processes, and communicate technical plans, risks, and status to stakeholders.Technical QualificationsStrong experience with:C#, .NET, Python, JavaScriptReact or AngularHTML, CSSSQL and database designREST APIs and enterprise integrationsCloud platforms, preferably Microsoft AzureDistributed systems and application architectureData engineering and data architectureGenerative AI and machine learning technologiesGit, Azure DevOps, Jira, and modern development toolsPreferred:Azure AI Services, Azure AI Search, Semantic Kernel, AKS, Azure FunctionsGraph databases, vector databases, and search technologiesMobile development experience (Flutter or similar)Salesforce and enterprise SaaS integrationsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.8+ years of professional software engineering experience.Proven experience designing and building production enterprise software systems.Strong software architecture and system design expertise.Experience developing cloud-native, scalable applications.Experience with AI-powered applications, data-intensive systems, or enterprise integrations.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to collaborate effectively within distributed engineering teams.High sense of urgency with the ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities.Receptiveness to performance feedback within a team environment is essential.Must be able to work onsite in Houston, TX five days per week.alliant offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package including 100% employer paid medical /dental premiums for single coverage for certain options, 401(k) matching, PTO, company provided life insurance and disability, onsite gym and group exercise classes, paid covered parking, and more!Do Work That Matters. alliant #J-18808-Ljbffr
