Position Summary

This is a part-time position. Please do not apply if you are seeking full time employment.

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and professional environment within the TxDOT Amarillo Loop Maintenance Office. Duties include daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly cleaning services as outlined in the Statement of Work. The position ensures all facility areas—including offices, restrooms, break rooms, and outdoor entryways—are maintained in compliance with S3 Solutions One LLC standards, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, and Texas workplace safety regulations.

Work Hours: Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday from 8:00 am to 11:00 am

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Daily Tasks (Performed Twice Weekly)

• Empty and replace liners in all interior and exterior trash and recycling receptacles, including cigarette containers.
• Clean and disinfect drinking fountains, telephones, countertops, office door handles, light switches, copier surfaces, keyboards, and other high-touch areas.
• Sweep, vacuum, and mop all uncarpeted and carpeted floors, including corners, under furniture, and behind doors.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms including sinks, toilets, urinals, partitions, and fixtures; polish stainless steel; replenish supplies.
• Clean and disinfect break room surfaces, tables, chairs, sinks, cabinets, and appliance exteriors.
• Sweep entrances, walkways, and outside porches; clean picnic tables.
• Maintain janitorial closets in clean and organized condition.
• Report facility damage immediately to management and return 'lost and found' items to a TxDOT representative.

Weekly Tasks

• Clean spills and food splatter in refrigerators and microwaves.
• Dust windowsills, moldings, baseboards, blinds, vents, and door frames.
• Spot-clean walls, doors, and light switches to remove fingerprints and stains.

Monthly Tasks

• Dust and spot-clean ceiling fans, blinds, and light fixtures (inside and outside).
• Vacuum upholstered furniture and partitions.
• Remove cobwebs and clean air vents and grills.

Quarterly Tasks

• Wash interior windows and glass partitions; ensure streak-free finish.
• Deep clean and vacuum partitions, upholstered furniture, and chair surfaces.

General Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Texas Department of State Health Services cleaning and chemical safety standards.
• Use protective equipment and safe cleaning practices.
• Conserve energy and water; ensure security systems and access cards are properly managed.
• Complete all required service checklists for management review.

Performance Standards

• Facilities must be free of visible dust, debris, stains, and odors.
• Restrooms, break rooms, and entryways must be fully stocked and sanitary.
• Floors, furniture, and glass surfaces must maintain a clean and professional appearance.
• Identified deficiencies must be corrected before the next scheduled service.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 25 lbs., bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices, PPE use, and chemical handling.
• Ability to follow service checklists and communicate effectively with site representatives.
• Must maintain professional appearance, hygiene, and conduct.
• Must pass required background check and, if applicable, fingerprinting per Texas and federal facility requirements.
