Dredgit is hiring Booster Pump Operators for an upcoming projects in Georgia, Louisiana and other locations throughout the continental United States.

The primary responsibility is to monitor booster pump gauges and maintain radio communication with the dredge operator to keep material moving through the pipeline and help prevent blockages. We’re looking for dependable, mechanically inclined people who stay attentive, take initiative, and work well outdoors during 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor pump gauges and operating conditions throughout the shift.
  • Maintain clear, timely radio communication with the dredge operator regarding pressure changes, material flow, and potential problems.
  • Follow established procedures for pump operation and coordinated startup and shutdown.
  • Recognize abnormal readings, leaks, unusual noises, or other equipment concerns and report them promptly.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely to assist with basic maintenance and jobsite tasks as directed.
  • Keep the pump area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow company and project safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude and practical experience safely using hand tools and power tools.
  • Dependable attendance, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to remain alert and focused during extended periods of equipment monitoring.
  • Ability to learn procedures, retain instructions, and handle routine tasks independently after training.
  • Good judgment when troubleshooting basic problems and recognizing when assistance is needed.
  • Ability to communicate clearly by radio and follow operating instructions.
  • Ability to work outdoors during 12-hour shifts in varying weather conditions.
  • Dredging, marine, pump operation, construction, equipment maintenance, agricultural, or similar hands-on experience preferred.

 

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Willing and able to travel extensively and stay out of town for extended periods
  • Able to work long shifts outdoors in heat, cold, rain and other jobsite conditions
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform physical work including climbing, bending, pulling and standing for extended periods
  • Comfortable working on and around water, boats and heavy equipment.

 

Travel

This position requires travel.
Dredgit provides:
