Details Work in a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department at a teaching and community hospital setting Facility is STEMI and Stroke certified, handling shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations Patient ratio of 1:4 Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 1900-0730 Weekend rotation required No on-call requirement Broad clinical exposure including pediatrics, psychiatric emergencies, IV therapy, respiratory care, neurological trauma, and cardiac monitoring Requirements Active CA RN license required Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required TNCC certification preferred Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred 7-year work history verification required, including documentation or contacts if needed 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required Must complete labs within 3-5 days of contract signing Additional Information Provide comprehensive ED nursing care including patient assessment, clinical procedures (IV, Foley, dressings), and family education Demonstrate strong understanding of evidence-based practice, pathophysiology, and pharmacological principles Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, acting as a patient advocate Work both independently and collaboratively within a care team Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic splinting Max RTO of 7 days per contract Only 1 holiday request approved per contract, covering New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Returning staff or travelers must have a 1-year separation before reapplying Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius First-time travelers are not eligible due to required prior travel experience American Traveler Job ID P-749259.
