Today, our 82,000 associates serve more than 10 million customers a week across 10 Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic states.PRIMARY PURPOSEEnsure the proper receiving of DSD (Direct Store Delivery) product by following Food Lion policies and procedures. Responsible for maintaining standards in accordance with the standard practice manual, maximizing sales through excellent customer service and minimizing shrink through proper utilization of standard practice.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experienceCourteous and helpful to other associatesProtect company assets through the proper and accurate receipt and return of DSD productDemonstrate and execute proper vendor receiving policies established by Food LionWork with vendors to resolve vendor errors, policy violations or excessive inventory, etc.Work with the Assistant Store Manager to ensure timely promotions by all vendorsEnsure weekly merchandising notes are implemented timelyVerify that DSD plan-o-grams are accurateAccount for daily and weekly DSD tickets, beer and wine invoices and properly fileCheck EDI invoices to ensure there are no outstanding invoicesHandle all reclaim and damagesResponsible for consistently conducting CAO related activities, stocking, and rotating cigarette cartonsUnderstand and use company tools such as; average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering (CAO)Maintain a complete understanding of and adherence to company guidelines, policies and standard practiceUnderstand and follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and proceduresObserve and correct all unsafe conditions that could cause associate or customer accidentsReport all associate and customer accidents in accordance with established Food Lion procedures to the Manager on DutyEnsure compliance with local, state and federal regulationsWear the Food Lion uniform, complete with name badge, when on duty, has a neat and clean appearance while adhering to the Food Lion dress codeSuccessfully complete Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet and Training Aid coursesPerform all other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSHigh school graduate or equivalent preferredExcellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skillsAbility and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the jobAbility to use technical information to solve problemsMust meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functionsMust be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodationsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to use computers and other communication systems required to perform job functionsPerform repetitive hand and arm motionsBend and lift products weighing up to 15 lbs. continuously, 25 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. on occasionPull or push up to 75 lbs. on occasionStand 100% of the time, frequently walking short distancesBe able to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning and packaging materials, fresh fruits, vegetables, house plants/flowers and household cleanersUse hands to frequently/continuously handle currency (paper and coin) as well as operate a variety of equipment such as cash register, lottery machine (where applicable), scanner, computer, and calculatorFrequent reaching and grasping at waist level: occasionally above shoulder or below waist levelMeet established volume activity standards for the positionTolerate working in extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a timeHave sufficient visual ability to check ID cards, checks, invoices and other written documentsFood Lion provides equal employment opportunities to all associates and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth and related conditions) national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, veteran status, gender identity or gender expression or any other characteristic protected by law.
