Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR) - Ashland, Missouri

Step into a pivotal role supporting advanced imaging and patient care as part of a dedicated interventional radiology team. As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will assist physicians and advanced practitioners during a variety of minimally invasive, image-guided procedures in both routine and emergency settings.


This contract position offers valuable experience within a collaborative environment, working closely with radiologists and multidisciplinary medical staff. The facility may adjust hours weekly based on operational needs over the 13-week assignment.


Schedule/Hours

• Scheduling may vary between 36 and 48 hours per week depending on facility requirements.

• Required: R.T.(R) credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or one of the following: R.T.(VI), R.T.(CV), R.T.(CI), or RCIS.
• Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in interventional radiology or a related imaging specialty.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain strict sterile technique and uphold patient safety.

• Assist with a variety of interventional radiology procedures, including injections, angiography, biopsies, tube placements, and thrombolysis.
• Maintain sterility and safety protocols throughout all procedures.
• Verify exam orders, review medication statuses (such as blood thinners), and assess patient eligibility.
• Educate patients on procedure details, provide pre-/post-care, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Operate and adjust specialized imaging equipment to ensure high-quality diagnostics.
• Track, document, and manage imaging data within PACS and EMR systems.
• Apply radiation protection techniques and follow regulatory safety guidelines.
• Support emergency situations with prompt Basic Life Support as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver exceptional care.
