Job Description

Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Tech supports pharmacists in preparing, dispensing, and managing medications within a hospital pharmacy setting. They focus on accuracy, safety, and efficient medication distribution to ensure optimal patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in preparing medication orders and verifying stock for accuracy.
• Package and deliver medications to patient care areas in a timely manner.
• Manage Pyxis inventory, including selecting, loading, and organizing medications according to safety standards.
• Perform monthly nursing unit inspections, monitor temperature logs, and address any immediate issues.
• Maintain and organize pharmacy storage, including inventory checks, labeling, and disposal of expired or damaged products.
• Prepare medications, including IV medications, under pharmacist supervision, following strict safety and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in hospital pharmacy or healthcare environment preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification or Pharmacy Intern license preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling and inventory management.
• Ability to operate pharmacy equipment, including barcode scanners and packaging software.
• Knowledge of hospital pharmacy protocols, safety initiatives, and regulatory requirements.
