Estimator Wastewater

We are seeking an experienced Estimator - Wastewater to prepare accurate, competitive, and commercially sound estimates for wastewater treatment, water infrastructure, and associated civil engineering projects. This role will suit a detail-focused professional with strong technical knowledge, sound commercial judgement, and the ability to interpret tender documentation and develop comprehensive cost plans within demanding deadlines.


Key responsibilities will include reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes of work, contracts, and client requirements; undertaking quantity take-offs; obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations; building labour, plant, materials, and subcontractor rates; and preparing clear, itemised tenders for submission. You will identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions, and opportunities, maintain accurate estimating records, and support the development of value engineering proposals. The role will also involve liaising with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to clarify requirements and ensure estimates are complete and competitive. You may also contribute to tender presentations, handover meetings, cost reviews, and post-tender analysis.


Applicants should have proven estimating experience within wastewater, water treatment, utilities, civil engineering, or a closely related construction environment. A strong understanding of wastewater processes, pipelines, pumping stations, treatment facilities, and associated mechanical, electrical, and civil works is highly desirable. You will need excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tenders and changing priorities. Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and relevant construction or quantity surveying systems is expected. Effective communication, commercial awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are essential. Relevant qualifications in quantity surveying, civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline would be advantageous.
